Education is not only going to school,
learning from books, memorizing some facts, but it is also learning of how to
look, how to listen, to what the books are saying, whether they are saying
something true or false. Education is not just to pass examinations, take a
degree and a job, get married and settle down, pursue goal after goal, a mere
repetition but it is also to make us able to associate more and more with
nature, listen to the birds, to see the sky, the glory of the rising and
setting sun to see the extraordinary beauty of a dancing trees in rain, and to
feel with them, to be really, directly in touch with them. Education is the
cultivation of entire field of the mind not a corner of the mind, it brings a
complete order which make us able to understand hypocrisy not only others but
also our own; a complete integrated person; there is no difference in ones
thinking, saying and doing. Education is to create a new mind and a new mind is
only possible when the religious spirit and the scientific attitude form the part
of the same movement of consciousness - a state where the scientific attitude
and the religious spirit are not two parallel processes or capacities of the
mind. Education, as is of prime significance in the communication
of that which is central to the transformation of the human mind and the
creation of a new culture which is free from all absurdity and based on love
and harmony.
